10 YouTube Videos That Entertain

This post kicks off the start of our new "Caregiver Quarantine" series. The goal of this series is to provide resources and activities for caregivers and their loved ones adjusting to the 24/7 caregiving lifestyle that we now face as we strive to maintain social distancing and keep our loved ones safe. Hopefully, you find something in this series that's helpful!

It feels like we are at day 45,397 of this "quarantine" when in reality it's probably more like day 50. Either way, it's A LOT on so many levels. And that's A LOT of time spent inside of your home. And A LOT of time that needs to be filled for both the loved one and their caregiver.

Social media is becoming the new "television". I'm kind of embarrassed to admit how much time I spend on social media. In some ways, however, it's not necessarily a bad thing. As a matter of fact, one social media platform in particular has been really helpful around here...YOUTUBE!

There is only so much Family Feud you want to watch on TV and at my mom's stage she doesn't really have much interest in a lot of today's television programming. But what she has always loved is music! And fortunately, there is a never ending supply online.

So whether it's music apps like Spotify, or Apple Music or Pandora or Tidal where you can create custom playlist or play music from relatable genres and eras. Or YouTube where I can find programming that she shows some interests in and can relate to...MUSIC IS LIFE!

The list below includes some of our favorite YouTube viewing, but there are literally hundreds of videos and playlists to choose from, to match your loved ones tastes and preferences. From soul and R&B ...to country, pop, classical, and more.

If you have a smart TV that's great, you can watch YouTube on an actual TV. If not, no worries, you can still use a computer, laptop, cell phone or tablet to join in on the fun.

Here's a list of our 10 personal favorite Youtube videos. They range from concerts, to awards shows and more. Use the YouTube search bar to find what works for your loved one!
